Team Talk Tuesday: Becky-Marie Duty manager
Every Tuesday we will be posting an interview with one of our team members. Last week we spoke to Louise P who works both front of house and on houskeeping, this week we speak to Becky-Marie who works as our duty manager.
Q. When did you join the company?
A. I first worked here in May 2014 during the summer recess from study at Aberystwyth University. I then rejoined the company in November 2015 as a Duty Manager.
Q. Where were you working before joining the team at the Fleece?
A. After leaving university I went to work at Evans retail, although I enjoyed the short time I spent at Evans I really missed the team and working environment at the Fleece. It’s fun to say the least…
Q.Whats a normal day for you at the Fleece?
A. NO DAY IS EVER THE SAME! In fact a don’t think the word normal and at the Fleece would ever be in the same sentence. My job is very much similar to Llinos I’m normally on the alternate shift so I’m either welcoming guest for breakfast or checking in our guests during the evening and welcoming them for dinner.
Q. What is your favourite part of your job?
A. It’s the people I work with, our team. I also get a great sense of satisfaction when customers enjoy their experience here and tell us about it. There is nothing nicer than getting some good feed back where a customer has felt you have made a positive impact on their stay or evening.
Q. What has been the hardest part of your job?
A. That would the transition between going from a waitress to a manager. Although I have worked at the same level as some of my team I now have to direct them which felt strange at first… But thank goodness they are fairly well behaved!
Q. When your not at the Fleece what do you most enjoy doing?
A. Drinking at the Fleece! At least I’m honest!
