Finding adventure in North Wales

If you’re looking for action and adventure on your break away then North Wales is the perfect location. As well as all of the things you’d expect from the area that’s home to Mount Snowdon; such as climbing, hiking, abseiling, walking, and mountain biking, there’s also a few more adventure activities to give you that adrenalin hit.

Titan Zip Wire

Fancy zipping across the valley in Europe’s largest zip zone with over 8000m of zip wires? There are three zipwires to fly along, with some spectacular views across the area.

Take the seated zip wire ride and enjoy the thrills. Titan closes in the winter so autumn is your last chance to try it before it closes for the winter.

Zip World Caverns

If you prefer indoor adventure, how about zipping through some old slate caverns that haven’t been used for over 200 years. As well as 11 zip wires, you’ll also traverse monkey bars and a rope bridge as you make your way around the caves.

FForest Skyride

Essentially a giant swing that flies 80 foot into the air across the forest in the valley of Blaenau Ffestiniog.

A great one to do with family or friends, as up to five people can get on the swing together. Get the bravest person to pull the release and off you go.

Bounce Below

If you do fancy an adventure in a cave but don’t like the idea of zip wires or monkey bars, how about giant trampolines?

Bounce Below is an underground adventure where you bounce around giant nets that are suspended above the caves or take a trip down the covered slides and basically play in a giant underground park.

Rib Ride

Maybe adventure on the high seas is more your thing? A rib ride on the Menai Straits will definitely give you the adrenalin thrill you’re looking for.

You have a choice of a turbo charged ‘Velocity’ ride or try a more sedate trip to see puffin and seals or castles and bridges.

Madog Quads

Right on our doorstep, the quad biking action packed trails of the local countryside are perfect for family rides together. Either take a slow trip round the 30 acres site to see the local countryside or ramp up the revs and fly over all the bumps and ruts for a truly exciting ride.

One thing to note is you’re likely to get wet and muddy, particularly at this time of year so bring some wellies and wet weather gear.

Surf Snowdonia

Why not try your hand at surfing in a world first; an inland surf lagoon? Whether you’re a beginner, or a seasoned pro, there’s different wave options for all and surf classes for beginners. There’s even a soft play area for the kids.

After all the that adventure why not settle the nerves with one of our locally produced craft gins, try our specially selected menus created by our Head Chef in our restaurant near Porthmadog or stay in our accommodation in Porthmadog for a great nights sleep, a well earned breakfast and a warm welcome.
